Physical Therapy or Medicine
The biggest difference between Physical Therapist and medical doctors lies
in their preferred method of caring
for people. Medical doctors are trained in the use of medicines (chemicals that
affect your internal biochemistry) and surgery. Consequently, if you
have a chemical problem, such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, an infection, a torn ligament or a fracture medical doctors can be very helpful. However, if your problem
is that your shoulder is not moving properly or stiffness at your spine or you have soft tissue damage
causing pain, there is no chemical in existence that can fix it. You
need a physical solution to correct a physical problem. This is where Physical Therapist can help you.
A Physical Therapy College grants a DPT or Doctorate of Physical Therapy
degree. Physical Therapist are licensed as health care providers in every
U.S. State and many countries around the world. There is a lot
competition for acceptance in Physical Therapy school. The school curricula are
extremely rigorous and many ways similar to medical and chiropractic schools. A Doctor of Physical Therapy have to pass a national and state board exams to practice.
